Qualification / Experience

Completed article ship with reputable CA firm
Article ship and CA Finalist/ ACCA Qualified/ ACMA/CIMA
Experience5-8 years’ experience in relevant field / Experience in leading accounting firm/s.
Proven experience in formulating and implementing efficient financial management systems and procedures to enable rapid and accurate reporting of relevant activities.
Proficient knowledge and experience in modern financial management and accounting practices, relevant legislation and financial policies and procedures (e.g: IFRS etc).
Strong knowledge of applicable Tax laws.
Strong communication, written, interpersonal and analytical skills.
General IT skills: Use of ERP systems (emphasis on financial modules), use of Microsoft office, email and Internet-based research.
Ability to manage a team of 3-6.
Understanding of Revenue/Receivable, Procurement/Payable, Payroll, Financial Reporting cycles.
Commitment to Code of Ethics.
On-hand experience of financial modelling.
Odoo (ERP).

Key Competencies

Ensure efficient day-to-day financial operations of the designated section in line with best financial practices, procedures and in compliance with NUST policies.
Inter & intra departmental liaison for compliance as per policy and requirements.
Analysis of financial data by using latest financial reporting tools & techniques to determine real time financial position, performance and/or to develop financial projections.
Management reporting of multi-location entity.
Preparation and submission of Budget Estimates, overseeing budget, all type of grants/contracts and student fee status (all entities of NUST).
Student fee issuance, collection, recievable.
Aid in management decision making by analyzing financial trends, budget, expenditures, and flag critical aspects.
Verification of Bank Reconciliation Statements both manually and in ERP.
Provision of Financial Data, its summary and reports for management, Govt entities/funding agencies & other stakeholders.
Comprehensive compliance of tax laws both national and international (where applicable).
Oversee & conclude external audit, compliance of internal audit & Govt audit processes.
Engage in regular financial market research including bonds, bills and other securities for investment.
Work closely with financial institutions/investment analysts to assess & recommend financial information and investment opportunities.

Last education certificate/degree must be attested/verified by HEC.
Candidates may be considered ineligible for the post due to any of the following reasons:
3rd Div in academic career / weak academic profile.
NUST employees with less than two years’ service with NUST and / or absence of NOC from Head of Institution.
In process of pursuing a required degree.
Medically unfit.
